This is one of my favorite times of the year, with the constant smell of sunscreen, sleeping in late, sun-kissed hair and warm summer nights. I don't have time to prep and primp all day. I don't want to fuss with a curling iron. I want to be ready and out the door in under 15 minutes. I want to enjoy this momentous time with my boys at this fun and mischievous age. Who wants to be spending hours applying makeup and doing their hair, but at the same time I want to feel polished and pretty. Plus, if I take too long getting ready my adorable little tribe will turn into crazed animals and I don't know what would become of my house or my sanity.
So, my June favorites are products that make my life easier and simplify my daily beauty regimen. Anything that simplifies my life is definitely noteworthy in my book.
If you have any beauty products that are timesavers, comment below. I love hearing about other products that work for you. Get out and enjoy the sun and beach, but don't forget your SPF!!!
Products and where to purchase are listed below.

This is my final look using all of the my June Must Haves. I used the Pur-Lisse Sheet Mask the night before. My hair is three days going strong, unwashed. I used the Suave Dry Shampoo to give it volume and conceal the grease. I am wearing a nude gloss over the Pixi Lip Balm for shine. This look took me about 20 minutes from head to toe.

These are my results from doing my sunless tan routine last night. I am religious about applying sunscreen to my arms, hands, face and shoulders. I need to better about using a regular Spf on my legs, though. But I don't, lay out, or tan in any way. If I will be out in the sun for an extended amount of time i.e. beach, Disneyland, I do apply Spf on my legs, also. This picture has no filter (besides the blur, to blur out my messy house).

I remember the first time I ever purchased a self tanner. It was the late nineties, when they were fairly new on the market. This meant I didn't have to lay out, while slathering on baby oil for hours, anymore (although I didn't mind laying out for hours on end). But this was the era when everyone was starting to realize how truly damaging the sun was to our skin. So, if I wanted that bronzed skin, fake tanner was going to be my route!
I can't remember the name of the first sunless tanner I purchased but I do remember the smell...wet dog and biscuit dough, combined. It was a brown, like chocolate brown, color that stained pretty much anything it came into contact with. I had brown stains on my carpet, clothes, sheets, it was gross. And surely, with the smell and mess, I would be a glistening, sun kissed, goddess, right?! Um no. I looked like a dirty, streaky, platform foam sandal wearing,(nineties, mind you) terra cotta mess. Well, thank God, sunless tanners have come a long, long way!
I am going to let you in on how I achieve the perfect bronzed, fake tan. I have been using this routine for applying my fake tan, for years. I have used many, many (I think I have tried every single sunless tanner on the market) different brands and formulas, and this is what works best for me. I prefer the gradual sunless tanning lotions. I feel like the gradual lotions don't leave me orange and the smell isn't as offensive. FYI, the smell from sunless tanners is a chemical reaction from the DHA from the tanner, interacting with the proteins in your skin. DHA is in all sunless tanners, so unfortunately, it's unavoidable. DHA is derived from sugar beets or sugarcane, it’s a form of glucose. I always do my fake tan routine at night before bed.
I usually take a quick shower in the morning, just in case there is that undeniable fake tan smell we know and love. This last me about a week. I did this whole routine last night, so I'll repeat it next Monday night. Also, if you are not sure what shade of sunless tanner to buy, always buy Light. You can buy a deeper shade next time if you want to. Or, if you think you bought a shade that is too deep, when applying, mix in some lotion to dilute the tanner. Now go and wear that sundress proudly, and show off those bronzed and silky stems.
My favorite sunless tanners and products I use to achieve my bronzy glow are listed below:
Who loves to DIY?! I do! And I love DIY beauty, even more. DIYing is totally awesome because it's inexpensive, you know what’s going in the “product” and it's really, really fun (I love making fun little potions). You can even do some of these with the kiddos (if you're brave) everyone will just need a shower after, that's all!
I have tried and tested these organic, easy and cheap beauty DIY’s, and honestly, I prefer them over many of my high end and professional skin care products. All of these ingredients you can get at Amazon, Trader Joe’s or a natural grocery store, like Sprouts. Let's get this party started!
So, that about does it for my DIY beauty treatments. Again, they are so fun and some you can go with the kids, and my kids love doing them too. Some, of these are not suitable for every skin type. These are just the treatments that work well for me! If you are pregnant or nursing, please consult your doctor. And DIY beauty on, my friends! Let me know in the comments if you have a DIY beauty tips or treatments that you love!
*Some of the products links, I use are down below. But most you can purchase at local grocery sores.
